Core Search (Text)

A core search requires at least one of the pieces of information listed below. Additional information about any of the search criteria can be found by clicking on that term or by reading the Search Help page.

Ship Name - Name of the ship that recovered the core (e.g., Eltanin, Palmer)

Cruise Name - ID representing a unique cruise (e.g., ELT47, PD92-II, NBP93-08)

Core Identification Number - ID number given to each core (e.g., 01, 12, 33A)

Core Type - Type of device used to recover the core or sample (e.g., PC, TC, GC)

Latitude - Positive values represent North latitude, Negative values represent South latitude

Longitude - Positive values represent East longitude, Negative values represent West longitude

Water Depth - Water depth of core (in meters below sealevel)

Core Length - The length the core (usually in centimeters)
